Description
Leeds based charity, Swan Song Project gives people living with terminal illnesses, dealing with bereavement or planning their end stages of life the opportunity and support to write and record their own original song. They believe that everyone has a song and that those songs deserve to be sung. If you would like to find out more about writing your song, then you can find out more on their website. You can get in touch with them directly, or we would be happy to make the introduction for you.
The project relies on the generosity of their supporters and funders and aims to keep the service free for the people who access it. So, there is no charge for our helping writing a song. However, if you would like to donate to support more people writing their songs it is much appreciated by Ben and his team.
Writing a song is a powerful way to support continued bonds with someone after they have died. Continuing bonds theory suggests that after someone dies our connection with them does not disappear, but simply changes. You can find out more about continued bonds theory on the continuing bonds page of our website. You may also enjoy reading more about how music can support wellbeing.
