More Art After Loss Exhibitions
Since hosting our first Art After Loss exhibitions in Harrogate last year we have responded to the positive feedback by organising similar events in other areas, most recently in Altrincham and Knaresborough.
Gracious Street Church in Knaresborough is currently hosting an exhibition of artwork created in response to grief and loss, which will run until 16th June. In Altrincham, Art After Loss pop up exhibitions have been held at Altrincham Library, The Counselling and Family Centre (CFC) Altrincham and St Peter’s Church Hale, all of which will be open to the public, as well as a display for students and staff at the Altrincham campus of Trafford College. Full Circle Funeral Partners Altrincham is collaborating with Inch Arts on another exhibition of art created in response to loss, which has been so successful that its run has been extended.
We also recently hosted a successful exhibition in Calderdale with support from local artists and organisations including Overgate Hospice in Halifax.
Many people that we have supported have told us that creativity has really helped their wellbeing after loss, whatever form that might take.
For some people this is a very private way of expressing emotion whereas others are keen to share their art to inspire others to use creativity to support them after loss or bereavement. The Art After Loss series of events are an extension of Full Circle Funerals’ online gallery, created to celebrate some of the beautiful and meaningful ways that people have used art to help them after bereavement.
