Creativity supports wellbeing after bereavement
Many people have told us that they have found it helpful to spend time engaging in creative activities after bereavement. The benefits of taking the time to mindfully draw, doodle, paint, write or craft can be profound.
Sometimes if can be hard to find the words to articulate how you are feeling and finding other ways to express emotions can feel safer and more accessible. And, when we are busy creating something together and our hands are busy, sometimes the words just see to flow easier.
Some creative activities also support the development of continuing bonds and we have created a space to celebrate the creations of those who would like us to in our online art gallery.
Creative workshops
Since early 2022, we have been collaborating with local artists, makers and crafters to offer creative workshops for people who have experienced bereavement and would like to try something creative in a safe and grief informed space.
